Let there be light… on your lawn.

Last week we spoke about how objects on the lawn, like leaves or children’s toys, can stop the light from getting to the grass.

Plants shading your lawn can also take the light away from your lawn. This can stop a good flow of air, and encourage moss growth or disease.

Next time you are walking around your garden, have a look at your lawn and cut back anything that is giving permanent shade to your grass. You can even think about plants that will give too much shade as they leaf up. Some plants are easier to deal with while they are not in full leaf.
