“Do You Repair…?” – Yes, Probably.

One of the most common questions we hear at MAD Mowers starts with, “Do you repair…?” and usually ends with a machine that isn’t strictly a lawnmower. While our name might suggest grass-cutting alone, the reality is that our workshop sees a huge variety of equipment pass through the doors, much of it built around the same engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems we work on every day.
Unusual Masheans
We’re regularly asked about pressure washers, cement mixers, wacker plates, log splitters, generators, chippers, power barrows, and even mini-diggers. In most cases, the answer is yes – if it’s petrol or diesel powered and built to work hard outdoors, chances are we can repair it, service it, or at the very least give you an honest assessment. These machines often share common components such as Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Yanmar, or Loncin engines, belts, pumps, bearings, and control systems, so the skills required to keep them running are very much within our wheelhouse.
Sharpening.
Another frequent surprise for customers is our sharpening service. Alongside machinery repairs, we sharpen axes, hedge shears, secateurs, scissors, and a wide range of cutting tools. Sharp tools aren’t just more effective – they’re safer to use and less likely to cause strain or damage. Whether it’s professional kit that sees daily use or a trusted tool that’s been in the shed for years, proper sharpening can give it a whole new lease of life.
Of course, not every job is identical, and that’s where experience really counts. Some machines are straightforward, others are a bit more unusual, modified, or simply older than expected. When that happens, we don’t guess or bodge; we inspect, diagnose, and explain the options clearly so you can decide how to proceed. If something isn’t economical to repair, we’ll tell you straight.
Just Ask.
So if you’re standing in the showroom doorway or on the phone, wondering whether to ask, the short answer is: if it makes noise, vibrates, cuts, pumps, or moves under its own power, it’s worth asking. And if the question is “Do you repair…?” – the answer is very often yes.
